The Just

The Just is a Chicago-area rock band from Schaumburg, Illinois, blending the raw edge of 90s grunge with indie rock, alternative, and progressive rock elements. Founded in 2018 and bringing their emotionally charged originals to the stage in 2025, the band is currently building momentum with a string of high-energy live shows, a growing catalog of original material, and plans for new releases in 2026.

The band formed when Bob Biedron (vocals & rhythm guitar), Matthew Duckworth (bass), and Joe Verble (drums) decided to move beyond cover gigs and create a focused project dedicated entirely to original music. After years of songwriting, collaboration, and experimentation, they added lead guitarist Charlie Salto in late 2024, completing the lineup that delivers their dynamic sound live. What sets The Just apart is their commitment to honest, risk-taking songwriting—often born from late-night ideas, old riffs, or spontaneous inspiration—paired with tight, energetic performances that turn every show into a shared experience.

From their 2025 live debut at the Streamwood Summer Celebration to headlining a packed hometown show at House of Music in Orland Park (despite a snowy night) and delivering extended sets at venues like the Underground Lounge in Wrigleyville, The Just has quickly earned strong crowd responses and local media attention. Highlights include debuting new songs on stage, recording a live album, and radio play on WXAV 88.3FM. Joe Verble, the band’s drummer and a driving creative force, sums up their journey: “The feedback we received was so positive that it makes me want to keep working at it and create more.”
